This Permit-Required Confined Space course introduces learners to the hazards posed by confined spaces and the safety practices required for working in environments that meet OSHA’s permit-required classification. The training explains how confined spaces are identified, what makes a space permit-required, and the steps necessary to prepare for safe entry.

Learners review the potential hazards associated with these environments, the criteria for reclassifying a space, and the employer’s responsibility to develop and implement safe work procedures. The course also covers entry permits, hazard controls, team roles, and emergency planning. By the end, participants will understand the responsibilities of all personnel involved in confined space entry and how to ensure safe operations from preparation through rescue.

This online permit-required confined space course takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. Learners may start, pause, and resume anytime.

A minimum score of 80% is required to receive a certificate of completion. Participants may retake the course up to two times if they do not achieve the required mark.
