Course Overview

COURSE OVERVIEW

The CSA Intermediate/Standard Workplace First Aid Theory course offers a flexible and engaging way to complete the online learning portion of your blended first aid certification. Designed for learners who prefer to study at their own pace, this online theory component introduces essential first aid principles through clear explanations, practical examples, and built-in review sections that reinforce understanding.

This program is divided into two parts: an online theory portion and a classroom-based practical skills session. By completing this eLearning theory component, participants meet the online requirement for CSA Intermediate/Standard First Aid with CPR & AED and will be fully prepared for their in-person training. The theory portion takes approximately eight hours to complete depending on the learner’s existing knowledge, and progress is saved automatically so training can be paused and resumed as needed.

Once the online component is complete, learners must attend a practical training session within two weeks. During this instructor-led class, participants practice key first aid skills, review major concepts, and demonstrate hands-on competency in emergency scene management, bleeding control, CPR, choking response, and other critical interventions. A recap quiz is administered at the start of the classroom session, followed by additional evaluations to confirm readiness.
