BIS Awarded 2019 COS Reader’s Choice for HSE Management Technology
We would like to thank the Canadian Occupational Safety Magazine, and everyone who took the time to vote for this year’s Readers Choice Awards. We are extremely honored to have received the 2019 Canadian Occupational Safety (COS) Reader’s Choice Award for HSE Management Technology. This is the second time the readers of COS have awarded BIS, and we could not be prouder to be chosen for this award.
The BIS training and compliance software would not be where it is today had it not been for the invaluable input we regularly receive from our partners and customers. Everyone we work with has a rich history in the safety field, spanning industries like Oil & Gas, Construction, Transportation, Manufacturing, Auto Repair, and so much more.
We get so many fantastic feature suggestions from our community that we have been able to create a software solution that is constantly evolving to keep up with the needs of professionals who understand how important safety is to their teams.
Here are just a few examples of the fantastic people we have worked with who continue to help us improve the BIS Training & Compliance system:
Morgan Construction – Before making the switch to a paperless system, Nicole Graham, Morgan Construction’s Learning & Development Coordinator, and Trudy Decker, their HR Supervisor, explained that the team at Morgan Construction had to manually print, scan, and check nearly 72 pages of documents when they hired a new employee.
After the switch to the Digital Forms on the BIS Training & Compliance system the team at Morgan Construction spends less time on tedious paperwork, and they have been able to focus their efforts on other key responsibilities like producing high quality reports for management and developing superior training for their customers.
North American Construction Group – Tammy Siver, Training & HSE Manager at NACG, said that “digital forms allow [them] to complete real-time equipment operator evaluations in the field. They are easy to develop and very user-friendly to complete.”
APTIM – Justin Hinks, Corporate HSE Manager at APTIM, said “the BIStrainer platform has given APTIM the ability to customize and streamline our orientation process for each individual and the position they fulfill within the company. The process has reduced training time and cost.”
Current system functionality includes a robust Learning Management System (LMS); access to Training Records Management (TRM); blended learning with an online classroom calendar to schedule in person training; custom digital forms with a growing library of form templates, including, hazard assessments, safety audits, tool box talks, and much more; an intuitive training matrix which allows you to automatically assign training by employee roles and locations; an easy to use system to reward and acknowledge your team for performance and completion of any major work milestones; and access to the free SafeTapp app that provides access to training certificates, digital forms, and so much more!
Thank you for this award! We are looking forward to continuing to serve the safety community in the years to come.
