Working in confined spaces presents unique and often life-threatening challenges. The Confined Space Safety course prepares workers to recognize, assess, and control hazards in these high-risk environments. Designed to meet Canadian safety standards, this training provides practical knowledge on safe entry procedures, hazard control measures, team roles, and emergency response ensuring workers can perform their tasks safely and confidently.
Every year, workers across Canada face serious risks when entering confined spaces—areas that can conceal hazards such as oxygen deficiency, toxic atmospheres, and engulfment dangers. This confined space safety training course provides a clear understanding of how to identify, assess, and control these risks under Canadian safety regulations.
Participants begin by learning the definition and regulatory framework of confined spaces, including the Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and jurisdictional differences across provinces. The course emphasizes the importance of hazard recognition, control measures, and teamwork to maintain safe work environments.
Learners also explore the distinct roles and responsibilities of each team member—the employer, entry supervisor, attendant, and entrant—along with how to complete confined space entry permits, conduct atmospheric testing, and select appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Finally, this confined space safety training details emergency procedures, including self-rescue, non-entry rescue, and full entry rescue plans. Upon completion, participants will understand how to comply with Canadian safety standards and maintain a culture of safety during all confined space operations.
