This Domestic Preparedness Awareness course introduces learners to the fundamentals of nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) agents and the threats they pose. The program is designed to increase awareness of how NBC agents are used, what an attack may look like, and how to respond safely and appropriately. Through practical examples and foundational knowledge, participants gain a clearer understanding of NBC terrorism, potential targets, dissemination methods, and response expectations.

By the end of the course, learners will understand the recent history of NBC incidents, key signs and symptoms of exposure, common dissemination devices, and the actions required in the event of a terrorist attack involving NBC materials.

NBC threats require quick recognition and informed decision-making. This course helps learners identify indicators of an NBC event and prepares them to take appropriate steps to protect themselves and others.

This online course takes approximately 40 minutes to complete.

A passing score of 80% is required to pass this course. Learners may attempt the training up to three times. A downloadable student manual is included to support knowledge retention.

A certificate of completion will be available for download and printing once the course has been successfully completed.
