This DOT Reasonable Suspicion Training (Part II) course provides managers and supervisors with the knowledge needed to recognize signs of alcohol misuse, address concerns appropriately, and follow federal testing procedures. Building on foundational DOT and FMCSA requirements, the course focuses on the behavioural and physical indicators of alcohol impairment, how to approach an employee who may need to undergo reasonable suspicion testing, and what to expect during the testing process.
Learners will also gain an understanding of removal-from-work requirements, the return-to-duty process, and available resources for employees who may be struggling with substance misuse. This course supports compliance with 49 CFR Part 199 – Drug and Alcohol Testing and helps supervisors respond confidently and responsibly in safety-sensitive situations.
