Injuries relating to manually moving materials is one of the most common workplace injuries in Canada. Such injuries are known as musculoskeletal injuries (or MSIs) and they can be prevented with the proper knowledge, techniques, and equipment. This course will walk you through how these injuries occur, and more importantly, how they can be prevented.
This Safe Manual Material Handling course will be presented in five chapters:
Module 1: What is Manual Material Handling?
Module 2: Potential Injuries
Module 3: Pre-task Assessment
Module 4: Safe Manual Handling Techniques
Module 5: Preventative Strategies
Upon completion, you will be presented with a final exam to test your knowledge.

Testing is conducted in this online course to reinforce the information presented. You are provided three opportunities to achieve a passing mark of 80% or greater.
