What is Cargo Securement (OSHA)?

The course emphasizes practical application and regulatory standards outlined in 49 CFR §393 Subpart I, helping learners build confidence in maintaining safety during transportation.

The Cargo Securement online training course provides OSHA-compliant instruction for drivers and workers responsible for securing loads in transport. Improperly secured cargo can lead to serious accidents, injuries, or violations, this course teaches how to meet federal cargo securement standards and prevent load shifts or falls during transit.

This interactive course includes sections on regulatory requirements, securing processes, and hazard prevention, with intermittent quiz questions that reinforce key learning objectives. Upon completion, participants will have a solid understanding of safe cargo handling practices and the federal standards that apply to them.

This training meets the OSHA classroom requirement and aligns with 49 CFR §393 Subpart I – Protection Against Shifting and Falling Cargo, including:

  • §393.100 – Applicability and general requirements
  • §393.102 – Minimum performance criteria for securement devices
  • §393.104 – Standards for devices and systems
  • §393.106 – General requirements for securing cargo

NOTE MINIMALE REQUISE

A passing score of 80% is required to successfully complete the course. Learners are given two opportunities to achieve a passing grade.

Upon successful completion, a Certificate of Completion will be available for download and printing. This certificate confirms the learner’s understanding of OSHA-compliant cargo securement practices.
