The Confined Space Entry course provides essential information for individuals in Alberta who are required to work in or around confined spaces. Confined spaces present unique hazards that must be identified, assessed, and controlled to ensure worker safety. This training explains how confined spaces are defined, what risks may be present, and the procedures that must be followed before and during entry.

Learners review their responsibilities, hazard recognition techniques, classification requirements, and the elements of an effective entry plan. The course also covers entry authorization, PPE selection and use, and emergency response expectations. By the end, participants will understand how to enter and work within confined spaces safely and in compliance with Alberta’s regulatory requirements.

Confined spaces can contain hazardous atmospheres, shifting materials, restricted movement, and other serious risks. Understanding how to recognize confined spaces, assess hazards, and implement safe entry procedures helps prevent injuries and fatalities. This course provides the foundational knowledge needed to comply with Alberta’s confined space requirements and maintain safe work practices.

This online confined space entry course takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete. Learners may start, pause, and resume at their convenience.

A minimum mark of 80% is required to receive a certificate of completion. Participants may repeat the course up to two times if the pass mark is not achieved. Supplemental materials are available online to support learning.

Upon successful completion, learners can download and print a digital certificate of completion.
